The National Concert Hall is located on Earlsfort Terrace - near Stephens Green. It was originally built as an Exhibition Hall for the the Dublin International Exhibition of 1865, after which it became part of the
Royal University of Ireland - later replaced by the National University of Ireland in 1908. The historic treaty debates of Dail Eireann in December 1921 & January 1922 - attended by
Michael Collins, were held in the Earlsfort Terrace Building. During the 1970's, with the establishment of the new University Campus at Belfield, the building became available for use as the National Concert Hall. ![]() Dublin photograph by A. Geraty © copyright Irelandposters. |
